Citizen Wolf is an online Australian custom clothing company. Using a system called “Magic Fit”, they custom make tees and sweats that fit you perfectly. I decided to try them out and have had two t-shirts made. Here’s my honest Citizen Wolf review:
What I like about Citizen Wolf
Custom Fit
Although I have a fairly standard shape, I am quite skinny but with broad shoulders. So getting a t-shirt that fits right can sometimes be a struggle. Citizen Wolf uses a system called Magic Fit. You put in your details like height and weight and they come up with a custom set of measurements.
I was skeptical this would actually work. But the t-shirt that I received magically did fit just right. Citizen Wolf does offer alternations, so if it doesn’t fit they can always alter it. You can also add notes. If you have particular features they can adjust for those.
High Quality Tee
I’ve been wearing my Citizen Wolf t-shirts for over a year now and they are wearing really well. One of my tees is a merino wool tee and this has been exceptionally hard wearing. It’s my favourite tee so it gets a lot of wear, but it still looks new. If you sick of t-shirts from fast fashion stores that seem to start falling apart at the seams almost immediately you will love the difference in quality that Citizen Wolf offers.
Choice of Fabric
You get to choose the fabric your tee is made out of. Choices includes Organic Cotton, Recycled Cotton/Cotton blend, Hemp/Cotton blend and Superfine Merino. Obviously you’ll pay more for the wool tees. You can also choose the weight. So if you like a super light summer tee, you can choose that, or you can opt for a heavier less flowy tee.
Obviously you can choose the colour as well and there is a great range of colours to choose from.
Made in Australia
Citizen Wolf clothes are made right here in Australia. There are other custom clothing companies, but many of them make the clothes overseas and will only alter them here. Making the clothes locally will reduce the carbon footprint of your clothes and you’re also supporting local workers.
Sustainable Company
If you’re buying a $10 t-shirt from Kmart. Someone or something is losing out. It might be a worker, it could be the environment. Citizen Wolf is a certified B corp. This means the company has to meet certain standards from everything from employee conditions to supply chain sources. Citizen Wolf claims that their clothing takes 48% less carbon to produce than fast fashion brands.
Is Citizen Wolf Worth It
There is no denying that Citizen Wolf is more expensive than most fast fashion brands. You can definitely get a much, much cheaper t-shirt at H&M and other similar stores. Citizen Wolf is comparable in cost to a brand like Tommy Hilfiger. But the quality of Citizen Wolf is much better than that of Tommy. And of course you don’t need to walk around with any obnoxious logos. I would rather buy a tee from Citizen Wolf that I know fits and I know has come from a socially and environmentally responsible company.
So yes, I think Citizen Wolf is definitely worth it. It’s more expensive but I believe the fit and quality is worth the price. For a custom made tee the price is actually pretty incredible.
